About the team/role

The Collection Business Intelligence Specialist provides analytical and strategic support to Collections Operations team. This role is responsible for analyzing designing, calculating, and updating performance bonus schemes, maintaining operational metrics (KPIs / OKRs), and producing actionable insights to drive collection efficiency.

The position requires a strong technical skills on SQL, power BI, Tableu, advanced Excel. As well as understanding of recovery processes, delinquency metrics, and call center management in the collections environment. The specialist will support forecasting and dashboard development, perform in-depth performance analyses, and provide clear, data-driven recommendations to optimize strategies and floor performance.

This role also acts as a key liaison between the local operations team and the BI team in China, and Strategy local Team, ensuring alignment and operational interpretation of global delinquency dashboards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performance Bonus Design & Calculation
    • Design, calculate, and update performance bonus schemes for the Collections Operations team.
    • Ensure incentive models are aligned with the area’s OKRs, policy guidelines, and budget constraints.
    • Monitor bonus effectiveness, ensuring targets are both achievable and performance-driven.
    • Reconcile results with Supervisors and Managers, communicating outcomes clearly and on time.
    • Update calculation methods and ranges upon managerial request, running simulations to validate reliability and financial feasibility.

  • Operational Metrics & Reporting
    • Build and maintain key operational metrics, ensuring data consistency and accuracy.
    • Generate regular performance reports with clear conclusions and actionable recommendations to improve recovery effectiveness.
    • Analyze collection trends, delinquency behavior, and campaign performance to identify root causes and areas for improvement.
    • Provide data-backed insights to guide management decisions on strategy, campaign adjustments, and workforce focus areas.

  • Forecasting & Strategy Support
    • Support the design of collection strategies through volume forecasting and behavior analysis by product, bucket, and channel.
    • Collaborate with Operations and Strategy teams to identify optimization opportunities and implement adjustments to improve recovery rates and efficiency.

  • Dashboards & Automation
    • Develop and maintain dashboards and automated reports using SQL and BI tools.
    • Validate data sources and coordinate with the RD team for new data integrations when required.
    • Understand and interpret dashboards developed by the China BI team, translating delinquency and performance metrics into actionable insights for the local operation.
    • Ensure alignment of local and global KPIs, and proactively identify metric gaps or improvement opportunities.

  • Floor Control & Predictive Campaign Management
    • Oversee daily floor performance metrics and provide operational guidance based on real-time indicators.
    • Implement actionable recommendations to enhance call center effectiveness and collection outcomes.
    • Manage and monitor predictive campaigns to optimize contact rates and agent productivity.
    • Maintain and update campaign and contact databases, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
    • Collaborate with Operations, Risk, and Strategy teams to guarantee operational efficiency and goal achievement.

  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Participate in relevant meetings to present analyses, conclusions, and recommendations.
    • Act as a bridge between the Collections Operations team, BI China, and the local Risk/Strategy teams.
    • Coordinate closely with the parallel BI Specialist (Agencies/BPO) to ensure alignment and provide backup support when required.

Required Technical Skills
  • Advanced SQL / Hive SQL: Ability to design and optimize complex queries and build robust analytical datasets.
  • Strong BI & Visualization Tools: Experience creating and maintaining dashboards in tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Advanced Excel / Google Sheets: Strong proficiency in formulas, pivot tables, and automation.
  • Predictive Campaign Management: Understanding of predictive dialing strategies, campaign segmentation, and performance monitoring.
  • Collections & Recovery Analytics: Knowledge of key delinquency indicators, roll rate, vintage analysis, and recovery effectiveness metrics in the Mexican market.
  • Forecasting & Statistical Analysis: Capability to model collection performance trends and forecast delinquency evolution.
  • Strong Data Quality & Governance: Ensure integrity, consistency, and traceability of data used for reporting and incentive calculation.
  • Communication & Business Insight: Ability to translate analytical findings into concise, actionable recommendations for management.
  • Collaboration: Skilled at cross-functional work with Operations, Strategy, and Risk teams, both locally and globally.
